Practical info

Dear All,

On this page you can find useful information which helps you get around easy during the time you spend here.

1. Money exchange

You have to pay everything in Forints (HUF) in Hungary. We suggest that you exchange money at an official exchange office/box as soon as you arrive in Hungary (at the train station, bus station or the airport).

We listed the most important expenses you will have:

A: Accommodation 3300 HUF/person/night = 13 EUR/person/night

B: one way ticket (for every means of public transport/bus, metro, tram etc./) 320 HUF/piece=1,50 EUR/piece

C: train ticket from the airport to Nyugati Pályaudvar (Western Railway Station): 305 HUF/piece =   1, 50 EUR/piece

D: train ticket to PPCU: 550 HUF/piece = 2 EUR/piece

All in all: you should exchange 40-45 euros to Forints (HUF), it’ll be around 12000 HUF (depends on the present price of the Euro/Forint).  For food 10-15 Euros per day should be enough.

2. Piliscsaba, Campus and the surroundings

There are three places on campus where you can withdraw money from your account, two ATMs (one in Ambrosianum and at the main gate/see the campus map/) and you can withdraw money at the post office on campus located next to Questura (open from Monday to Friday 9am-5pm).

You can find another ATM at the petrol station across the campus (next to ALDI).

You can exchange money in CIB Bank in Piliscsaba (address: Piliscsaba, at the corner of Kinizsi and Bajcsy-Zsilinszky street. Open: Monday-Thursday 8am-4pm, Friday 8am-3pm, Saturday-Sunday: closed).

There is a store across the campus ALDI, where you can pay with card (it is good because if you pay by card you’ll pay at the current devisa exchange rate /middle/), you’ll find there every kind of food.

In the dorm there is a kitchen (shared) on every floor. What you can find in the kitchen: fridge, stove and microwave. Other things (plates, cutlery /fork, spoon, knife/, mug/glass etc.) you should bring with you as there is none of that in the dorm.

There will be bed linen/sheets in the dorm but you need to take your own towel with you.

4. Internet Access

Unfortunately, there is no Internet in the rooms of the dorm; however, you’ll have a separate computer class there (with 6 computers), which you will be able to use during the days.  Besides, there are Internet access (Wi-fi) at the University that you’ll be able to use (with your own computers/laptops) before or after the presentations (without password).

Some printing and copying services are available at the University in the main building (Stephaneum) where the Conference is going to take place (10 HUF/page).
